How to read faster #1
From this blog “how to finish book fast” I wrote a few days ago about the way how I read. Because I always bring in new books even I have many of books I didn’t Finish.
I have 4 hypotheses about this.
- Read one book at a time
- Read many book as you want
- Read 1 hour long
- Read 10 min every time I have free time
The first week after published my blog I try to do 10min on free time first because I just got my brand new Kindle paper white and I think it is amazing. It just super convenient I don’t have to carry any books with me again. (I’ll blog about Kindle later) PS.I love it a lot.
#1 : Read 10 min every time I have free time
The results are interesting. At coffee shop or restaurant I can read during I’m waiting for my food or sometimes just read during quick coffee after lunch. I found myself spend less on social network. I feel I use my time more efficiently than craw around social media. Or get distracted from hundreds of notifications. I’m not saying you use social media in free time is wrong but to spend time to read it just feel more time efficiently to me.
I didn’t surprise about how fast I’m able to read. But It makes me realize how much I lost my time to social media It steals my time from me and I just got my time back. This is the first thing you will feel it after you read this reading style.
I switch between 3 books depending on how I feel at that moment. About speed It’s not so fast I made 3 — 5% reading progress. Because every time I read I have to go back 2 — 3 pages to get connect to the content. Many time I’m not able to focus on content that much. Example, you have to order food, after 1 min waitress come to ask you something. Or you just see your friend and they come to say hi. Many of things happened. Let’s say I get 60 — 70% out of it.
Who should read this style.
If you’re a busy person, you don’t have time to read you should try this reading style. It’s not the best way but I’m sure you will finish your book not so long. And you will surprise how much time you’ve lost in social media.
